Wisdom teeth surgery..?

tomorrow i am getting all four of my wisdom teeth out, im 16 so my dentist said its an early age to get them all removed. three of the teeth aren't even poking out yet and the other is barely, so i am verry nervous and never been pit to sleep, and having any surgery i have no idea what to expect. and the outrageously puffy cheeks for a week i am hearing?

Answers:

I got all 4 of mine out a year ago and it was my first time being put under, too. I also had 3 in the gums and only one poking out.
It's great that you are getting them out early because the chance of surgical complications can increase with age (at 16 it is EXTREMELY low since you are still growing).

It was much less of a big deal than I'd anticipated, although I was exhausted for the next 4-5 days. When they put me out they just put an IV in my arm and I felt tired. The next thing I knew, they were shaking me to wake me up and asking how I was. I said "my face is cold," which they thought was hilarious since it was obvious to them that there was a huge ice pack on my face; I couldn't feel it, though. Then, they took the oxygen line out of my nose (it was in there because your breathing gets suppressed by the anesthesia) and told me to breathe, which was a little weird because I couldn't for a couple of seconds and started shaking. After that it was ok though and I started breathing normally. I remember they took me out to my parent's car in a wheel chair and then my dad dropped me off at the house and went to go get my perscriptions. I slept almost the whole day, except when he woke me to take them and for a little bit of dinner that evening.

By the way, only one of my cheeks puffed up and that just lasted for a day. It's different for everyone, but put ice on it as instructed and keep your mouth clean and that should help.
