Always ask the nurses that are putting the rubberbands on. They will be able to tell you which colors hold up well over a few weeks of wear. Since all orthodontists use different brands, colors work differently in different offices.

I would agree with the other poster on NO clear or pale yellow bands. The clear ones tend to change color and pick up stains. Think old tupperware. They really just look like your teeth are coated in plaque, which isnt a look anyone can pull off.

In my orthodontists office the pale baby pink bands had a tendency to turn a little orange. But all of the bright colors did just fine. I usually wore black on mine since it matched everything.

It's not like braces are going to be less noticable just by choosing the perfect color of rubberbands, and you're never going to be stuck with a set of colors for more than a couple of months. Tell your daughter to have fun with them and try out anything she thinks she might like. Rubber bands are one of the more temporary parts of braces, so she can have any color that catches her eye.

i use to pick bright colors like pink, purple, red, blue... don't pick Yellow, clear, or black.... don't look that flattering, i find the darker colors really bring attention to the braces.. and the yellow and clear are yucky
this is probably the one "cool" thing about wearing braces lol

Personally I'd get ones that don't stand out like clear plastic ones!!

I would not go clear or yellow...it looks dirty....
If she doesn't want to bring attention to her braces go with black -- otherwise, all the bright colours will say, "hey, look at my braces." It depends what she wants to do

Use favorite colors, school colors, holliday/seasonal colors. Most everything looks good. Let her go on http://www.drhaldeman.com/band.asp. She can try out colors to see how they look. Her orthodontist may have different colors, but here, she can get the general idea of what she wants. Just click on a color and then on a tooth or use pattern options! Hope this helps!
