Lisp??????!
Question: have one of the worst lisp in the world!!! i am 11 years old and yea i have braces and bucked teeth. Ive been caught wit a lisp wit these words: Successful and possibly i hate saying those words and ppl make fun of me all the time and it really hurts. My mom refuses to give me speech therapy. My lisp is still as bad as before i had braces and i am going to get my braces off in 3 months
anyways to get rid of lisp anything to practice?? Any words of wisdom for me??? Also what do other ppl honestly think of a lisp

Hi, When I was in school in the 5 &6 grade we had a boy that stuttered. The kids would laugh at him also and one day the teacher told them to stop it. Then she calmly told him to start over and say what he had to say without being in a hurry and think about what he was going to say before he said it. The class waited and he answered the question with out the stuttering. After that we all would wait for him to get out what he was trying to say. Today this same person is a minister. No more stuttering he broke himself of it with our help. I was so thrilled for him. Give it a try. Just take your time and form the work in your mind before you say it and pratice when you are alone. I know it will help if it dosen't get rid of it. Kids are so terribly mean to each other with this. Parents should teach children that it is mean and not to do it.
really no one is perfect. it seems like you are having trouble with the double s's in those words. say them slowly and pronounce them slowly, don't stop even if you mess up. keep trying. look for other words that you can use instead of those words that you can say. and if people make fun of you just tell them that it is something that makes you more interesting than them or be funny and say that the way you say it is the Old English way of saying it.
