Do You Have to Have Your Wisdom Pulled If...?!
Question: If it is your gum causing the pain and infection, and not the tooth, do you have to have your wisdom pulled or are there other things they can do for you? And, how do you know your gum is infected?

Yes. . because eventually it will lead to decay in the other teeth.
There is not enough room on your jaw for the 3rd Molars (Wisdom teeth) to come in straight. . .they will continue to cause gum infections and get bacteria and food caught into those areas back there.
They have also been known to cause shifting and 'crowding' for the other teeth (making the other teeth crooked)
your dentist can tell if your gum is infected and can put you on antibiotics and pain medication. if the cause is your wisdom tooth, it will more than likely have to be pulled.
yea you should. you're doctor knows.
