The FLOSSING is key. You should be brushing and flossing after each time you eat. Also, your tongue is a major source of bacteria. So, if you're not flossing away what your toothbrush isn't getting, than that leftover food is either festering in between your teeth and rotting, or bits of it are hanging out on your tongue 24-7. Check your tongue. If it is coated with green, white or any other color rather than normal pink, than you've got to scrape it constantly. This will help, but get to flossing! I know it sucks, but TRUST me, these 2 steps will pretty much eradicate your halitosis-- unless you have a rotting tooth! Good luck.

Clean your tongue - drink water after eating food (and mints if you want to use them)

Not all bad breath originates in the mouth > For example if you have acid reflux that could be causing it. Ask your doctor.

try the mouthwash Dr. tishner- not sure if that's spelled correctly but if you see the bottle you'll know it

It may be due to lack of saliva, drink plenty of water. From http://drcaird.com

Flossing and tongue brushing are key. However, be careful with the mouthwash. If your bad breath is actually being caused by lack of saliva (do you often feel like your mouth is dry?) then mouthwash with alcohol (which is a main ingredient in most) will actually dry your mouth out more and make your problem worse. Also, see your DDS for other possible problems such as periodontal disease or a decaying tooth. good luck!
