Should i get that type of braces or pay extra? please i need help!!!?!

Question: I am 11 years old and the dentist told me i need braces. The thing is that i already knew i need braces but i wanted them clear. The dentist said that you had to pay extra for clear so my mom and dad told me no. I really want them and i know that if i tell my parents i want them they will give them to me. The dentist also told me that the treatment that I need is too severe for the clear ones and that they won't be tht good I am getting them on in about 1 week so please what should I do insist on the clear or get the medal. From your experience which ones are better? I need to decide now!!

Go for the metal if your dentist recommends it. I can almost guarantee that all of your friends will be getting braces soon and you will be talking about which colors to match what clothes this month. If you are so worried about it being noticable, then you definatley will not be alone. Trust me, most of your friends are getting them too.

if your dentist is saying that your case is too severe for the clear ones then listen to him. he's the expert. the clear ones are for almost straight teeth-like for people with a tiny tiny space between their front teeth. go for the metal braces.

Well yes, if your teeth are that bad, you have to listen to what he says. And personally, I don't like the clear braces. One time I thought this kid had food stuck in his teeth and it ended up just being clear braces. I really don't like them. Just get the regular metal ones. It doesn't make them look like you don't have them, it makes you look like you have food stuck in your teeth. Plus they do cost more, and regular braces already cost a grand or two. so just go with the regular ones.

do you have the Damon System Brackets? there a lot newer, and not many orthodontists have them, i happened to be one of the lucky ones to have had them. theres a much better advantage than the traditional braces with rubber bands that to this day many people still have. they around the same cost as traditional braces with rubber bands as well, so no need to worry about the price issue.

the damon braces also have 2 different types of brackets to chose from. i only had to pay an extra $100 dollars for the half-clear cermaic and half-steel bracket. it wasnt bad. although you maybe should consider the full steel metal bracket if you have severe crowding and deep overbite. the half-clear and half-steel brackets are usually meant for minor crowding and gaps.

DAMON BRACES DO NOT REQUIRE RUBBER BANDS, it uses a self-ligating technology, the wire slides through a little opening inside the bracket instead of having a rubber band hold the wire in place. most people havent heard about these yet because not many orthodontists have had them yet. so really consider looking into these braces.

so everyone thats reading this, this is a newer technology, no extractions will be required for these type of braces, no rubber bands, shorter treatment, no (tightening wires) instead of tightening the wires, they will give you a new thicker wire to place through the self-ligating brackets, which will create more pressure, instead of having them tightened, and as well they are much smaller then traditional braces.

heres a professionnal opinion. dont get them clear...cuz 3 week after u put them they will become yellow cuz of food inside them...trust me its really diisgusting. I prefer white braces cuz these are really discreate and dosnt feelt like you have food stunck in the middle of your tooth
