I remember when I worked and had cover with BUPA (full cover) they would only cover work that could not be done in a dentist chair.
In other words an operation that needed an operating theatre and presumably general anasthesia would be covered as any other 'hospital' type treatment.
So I would think that you may well be covered, but would definitely advise you to contact the BUPA helpline who will take your details and let you know exactly if you are or not.
