My front bottom teeth have receded so badly, i fear they will fall out at any mo!

Question: i have a terrible fear of dentists, and i will have to get there soon, i know there is nothing that can be done.
but i wanna know, can they pull my 2 teeth out and then give me some false ones on the same day??? i cudnt go without teeth - i work facing the public day in and out and i cudnt handle it.

As the dentist will need to take imprints of your gums and send them away for the crowns/denture to be made, they would not be able to fit them the same day. If you ask, they may be able to fit a temporary crown or denture or fill the area with a temporary filling. However, as the area needs to heal after an extraction, this may not be possible.

I would suggest you speak to the dentist about your fears at your next appointment. You could book some leave from work during the period that you are having treatment, or speak to your GP and see if it is possible for you to be signed off from work during this period due to the stress that going in to work will cause you.
Best Wishes. It'll be worth it in the end!

your 'front bottom' has teeth? sounds like i've bitten off more than i can chew with this one!

Ring your dentist and ask them. My friend snapped off half her front tooth and she rung the dentist and got an appointment striaght away her tooth looks as good as new and you cant even tell it's fake !

you don't necessarily have to get them pulled out. because you'll probably regret it later on in the years, thats what i've heard from others who've had teeth pulled out. i think you should go to the dentist and ask him what choices you have. also, if youre too old for it, or you just don't like braces, you can get invisalign, its clear and is quicker and more efficient then braces.

Yes you can have extractions and false teeth put in on the same day.you may have to have the fit adjusted at a later date coz your gum shrinks where the teeth came out. good luck. by the way i used to be terrified of the dentist but its not bad at all nowadays and i go regularly.

You really must 'bite the bullet' and go! I went for a check up after 15 years of not going and no problems (so I thought). It turned out that I had a bone disease. My teeth had receded and had moved around. I had to have a brace fitted to move them back (which took no time as they were so loose). It is an hereditary disease and on telling my family turned out to be my father. The disease has been stopped in it's tracks but will never improve. I had to go through 6 months of visits twice a week to get them to the state where they could actually think about fitting a brace. I now have to wear a retainer on the back for the rest of my life. Since diagnosis for my father, he has lost 5 teeth. The problem with this disease is that plugs are no good as the bone had disintegrated and there is nowhere to screw a plug into. I have 75% loss in the top right corner.......not good, and the whole point of this answer is that had I of gone to the dentist for regular check ups, it never would have gone this far..........go....go now....especially as you can't handle having no teeth.......that surely must come before your fear. Ask them to put you out if you are that fearful.

Go and visit your dentist, he/she will be able to tell you what treatment you need and what options are available to you.
If you are suffering with gum disease this can result in the loss of the bone which helps to support the tooth and does sadly result in the loss of your natural teeth.
If your natural teeth need extracting, you could have an immediate denture made up, this would require you to have impressions taken of your upper/lower jaws, these impressions are sent to a dental lab where the technicians make you a small plate with the correct number of teeth required.
After about a week-10 days the denture is ready and you go back to the dentist who will extract the teeth and fit the immediate denture.
Make an appointment to see a dentist and explain your fears to them and hopefully you'll feel much better once they put your mind at ease!
Good luck.
