A question about fillings?!

Question:

A question about fillings?

Hi i took my daughter today to get a filling i thought she would of had an anethsetic befor the work would be done, as i sat watching the dentist started looked like sand blasting actually the tooth my daughter looked in some discomfort and was asked to rinse her mouth out then he started again this time tears began i could clearly see that there was something not quite right and she was in pain i asked him to stop and asked should you not have given her an injection by now and he said we try not to, the dentist said to my husband later when he went to complain it was the new technoligy and a load of other lies. My question is should he of drilled a hole with this equipment without an anethestic on a child of 13 clearly he was aware of her discomfort and only stopped when i asked him to please any advice is much apreciated thankyou

Answers:

Every filling I have ever had, I ALWAYS had a shot of local anesthetic first, and I have had 3 different dentists in my lifetime. I would definitely recommend find another dentist who has more empathy for the patients.
