Sorry, I came back to answer another question of yours!

For one, if you want really healthy teeth, I would check into brushing your teeth three times a day. That's actually how many times your supposed to. And no, I don't mean brushing at lunch during school, try after school when you get home. You can bring up the whiteness by just a little if you do it every day.

My dad's girlfriend is also a dentist, and she reccomended to me that flossing actually protects your teeth more than brushing. So make it a habit to floss each time you brush!

After that you should have a visibly noticeable whiter smile.

As for your braces, I would wait until you get a job of your own then. Start looking into some babysitting jobs now, but in the future, keep saving. Then you can spend your own money on braces. That's what I'm going to end up doing.

I promise you'll have gorgeous teeth, just wait!

then go to the Dentist...

it's definitely NOT a good way to go about. dentists are here to serve your mouth, let them! i haven't seen one for a few years... and now i have cavities that could have been prevented. they can also detect if you have gum disease. go see one, it will help.

f the dentist

I did that out of fear and last year I spent E1'100 to repair my negligance.
Go to the dentist, Please.

especialy if your young, you need to go to the dentist! even if your an adult... stilll dentistry of some form is needed

It's better to go more often. You may have holes in your teeth you don't know about and they get worse if you don't get'em fixed. I would advise you to go see a dentist as soon as possible.

YES.... you need to see a good dentist every 6 months so that he can scrape the plaque off your teeth, or you can develop gingivitis which can lead to gum disease and even tooth loss! You may even have it already if your teeth are starting to hurt, so DON'T WAIT ANY LONGER!!!!!

PS: Tell your mom that braces are always 'recommended' but never 'required' (unless you have impacted teeth or some thing similar) and they are considered cosmetic, so you don't have to get them right now if you cannot afford them, but checkups and cleanings are not very expensive (around $50 - $100) and the cost of NOT seeing a dentist can be far more dire (see above!)

PPS: FLOSS FLOSS FLOSS FLOSS FLOSS!!!!! Did I mention you should floss twice a day???

There are free dental clinics. Tell your mom to call social services and find out about them. They are free or you may have to pay a small fee depending on your income. Your mother is setting you up for a lifetime of dental problems.

yes trust me it is bad-- I waited 6 years and went to the dentist because I was having a terrible pain around my front tooth. it went straight up the front of my face just throbbing. I went to the dentist and found out that I had gum disease and the tooth had to be pulled. the plaque was really bad and the xrays showed the bone was going away. I am having to get a deep cleaning under my gums. and they say there is a possiblity I could lose several more. in the past I brushed my teeth 2-3 times a day. please go before it is to late and get them cleaned.
