Question about braces?!

Question: I am confused about these rubber bands that i have to put in myself. It isn't the ones around the brackets either. Whenever i have noticed other peoples they have always been in the back of their mouth, but i have to put mine in the front, I am just confused about this because I have never seen any one who had to wear the bands in the front. Please help, thanks :)

I am on 8 months with braces and was wearing bands from the first month to fix a crossbite. My bands go from the inner molar band to the outside molar band. Not so comfy at first but you get used to them.

The bands can be placed in several areas in several positions depending on your bite. Did the dentist tell you if you had a crossbite, overbite, underbite etc? these bands will help fix those kinds of problems. And towards the end many get bands on the outter fronts to close the teeth in to their final positions.

Don't be afraid to ask your ortho any questions and concerns you may have even if you think the question is dumb. This is what they get paid to do! Good luck!

Well what is your bite like *meaning how your teeth are situated in your mouth* that is how they determine weater you need them and where to put them most likely you might need specific teeth moved and that is why Ur ortho has prescribed them like that but that is just what i think because i haven't seen your teeth .... I have seen tons of people with them in the front by the way...

i have braces... im getting my rubberbands for the first time on January 15... so im not really sure... if your orthodintist said so, then do it... im sure other people have, you juss haven't seen them ;D

Haven't had the bands on yet and I'm in my 5th month with braces, so I dont know what to tell ya.
