How much is it for a dental implant in your area?!

Question:

How much is it for a dental implant in your area?

Answers:

Dental implants are done in stages.
The first stage is to be evaluated by the oral surgeon or the periodontist who will do the surgery to place the implant into the bone.
Second stage is the actual placement of the implant.
Third stage is the healing process where the implant is allowed to integrate with the jaw bone.
Fourth stage is a minor surgery to expose the implant and a "healing" cap is placed.
Now you can go see the prosthodontist (restorative dentist) who will fabricate the restoration.
Depending on whether it is a free standing single unit implant or as part of a bridge, the next stage is to have impressions taken of your mouth and the implant area. This is sent to the laboratory in order to fabricate the custom abutment. This is the part of the restoration that locks into the implant. Then an impression is taken for the crown or bridge.
Don't think that you'll be completed in six months... it can take longer.
As to the cost in the NYC area, the average cost of the surgical placement of the implant is around $2000 per unit. The average cost for the custom abutment is between $450 - $600 per unit. The average cost for a single unit crown is between $1400 - $2000.
I hope that this information is helpful.
