Is this a cavity? Chipped tooth along upper gum line?!

Question: On the right side of my mouth, the molar up top in the way back has like, a divot of some sort along the gum line...you know where tartar builds up? It's like the tooth is chipped or something. I am not experiencing pain...but I am obviously concerned about this! What is this...cavity?

Also, I don't know if anyone is a dentist here or anything but I am really scared about being at the dentist office, I get bad anxiety and I cry even though I'm in my 20s. I am scared at the *possibility* of pain and I hate the drill noises, etc . What can I do to make sure my dentist is nice? Can I be knocked out with that stuff that makes you sleepy? sorry for my bad spelling/grammer/etcc

Its probably a cavity, but when their that bad they usually need a root canal, you need to find a dentist that uses nitrous oxide on people who ask for it.

No, I don't know where the tartar builds up. I take care of my teeth. Look in the phone book and start calling dentist offices. Find out which use nitrous oxide gas and if there's an extra fee for it. Nitrous is mixed with oxygen and you breathe it in through your nose. It takes you to a happy place where you don't care about being in a dental chair. When it's turned off, you have no hangover, or after effects. If you like having your teeth, fresh breath, nice smile, go to the dentist.

yes they give you sleepy sleepy and you cant feel your face so they can preform certain procedures.
sometimes they let me "watch" TV well I'm actually just hearing it but yea
its probably not a cavity but check the dentist
be strong!
