Root canal infection...treatment options?!

Question:

Root canal infection...treatment options?

Hello! I had root canal done 5 years ago. Now I went to a new dentist and I was told that I need a new root canal done because of an infection. A X-ray picture showed some white lines around the tooth in problem(I can't tell what it means...) I do have slight discomfort with that tooth time to time, but not enough to seek medical help. Is another root canal the only option? The new dentist, recommended by a neighbor, gave me a card to a root canal specialist.... What do you think? Thanks!

Hello,

I had to have a retreatment after years, but I was given a choice weather to have an apicoectomy (the gum cut and infection cleaned out then stiches, or go in through the tooth again. Go take a look at two sites: One is, http://www.aae.org/patients/faqs/retxsum...

The other is an alternative view:

Alternative home remedy help, very effective:

Oil of Oregano is an antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal. Mix it with some Virgin olive oil and put on infected gum area, it also can be used as an anticeptic gargle, or the caps orally swallowed. It helped my root canal and gum surgery healing and pain almost immediately so I could get some sleep and speeded up and assured me of further infection, so you can use it for future and possibly avoid a repeat. I am multichemical sensitive and could not take pain killers, or Advil, and no perscriptions. This was a great alternative.
No side effects.

Good Luck. Cora.
