Terrified!!!?!

Question:

Terrified!!!?

Ok. I posted a question last week about the dentist. I have a cavity on my back upper molar that I can see - I made an appointment with my dentist and I go in on Thursday(6/28). The only problem is I am terrified to go to the dentist. I keep panicking that if I can physically see the cavity it must be HUGE and that I am going to need a root canal. My mom has looked at it and she said it looks small to her, but I am still freaked out about possibly needing a root canal. The cavity is on the bottom of my tooth, and seems to be inbewteen my teeth as well. Half of my tooth seems to be tinted darker (not super black) to me. My only symptoms are that I can see the hole and the darkness, and a little sensitivity to cold and sweet. I'm not in constant pain, I can chew on that side, and I can still bite down really hard. Do you think I'll need a root canal or just a filling?? If I do need a root canal is it really as bad as people say?? Thanks for all of your input. :-)

Answers:

I know how you feel! Very scary. I just had two root canals done last week at the same time. I kept thinking the whole time how bad it was going to hurt, but honestly its not as bad as u think, i mean dont get me wrong it does hurt, but they will give you a pain medicne. Dont worry about it you will be fine.
Just relax and it shouldnt take them to long. Good luck
