Anyone who's gone through Invisalign?!

Question:

Anyone who's gone through Invisalign?

I went to the orthodontist to talk about straightening my teeth. I am not in my teens so I didn't really want braces. He said that Invisalign would work great for me. He said that it'd take about a year to completely straighten both top and bottom(at first I was only planning on doing the top teeth, but while they're at it, they can take care of the bottom as well.) And the cost is about $3000.

For those who've had Invisalign or are going through it, how is it? Painful? Are those trays a real pain in the butt to manage? Can people notice you've got them in? Can you drink water with them in?(I'm constantly drinking water throughout the day)

Answers:

i have invisalign right now! its only painful when you put a new tray in because your teeth will start moving so when you do start a new tray i would suggest puttin it in for the first time before you go to bed and take a tylenol so miss most of the pain. They arent that hard to manage, at first they are kind of hard to get out, but its not too bad. also when you take them out u might have food residue so rinse them off or even brush them with tooth paste and everything. after you eat if you chew some gum for a minute to get them food between your teeth out then put the invisalign in, you wont have to deal with haing food in your tray. most people wont notice when you have them in, but some ppl will notice that ur teeth look extra shiny for the first couple of days you have a new tray in. also at first it will take some time to learn how to talk with them, like you wont sound completely different, but it does feel a little different with them in. you can drink what ever you want with them in, just be careful of drinks that are bright colors(like cool aid). if you drink something that is red then it may stain your tray just a little bit, but if you do it accidentally then just wash them off and they should be fine, just dont make it a habit. i hope this was helpful and good luck with ur invisalign!
