Question: My son wretches every time he brushes his teeth and sometimes actually vomits. How can he stop this from happening. Anyone else have this problem. Any cures will be greatly appreciated.

Buy a toothbrush with the smallest head you can find. This will help.
hes jambing the damn tooth brush down his throat.hey i have 4 kids and most did the same,except they didnt throw-up,just gag.he will get the hang of it eventually,good luck.

Buy it and tell him it WILL work. You need to sound encouraging because his problem is psychological. If YOU believe in the product, he stands a better chance of believing it too and will get a positive response.
Additionally, have HIM pick his favorite toothpaste. It has NOTHING to do with the problem, but, if the act of selecting the new product tricks his brain into thinking it IS a viable solution, DO IT. Just don't let him read this e-mail!!!
Finally, if the above tricks fail, try gargling with cold water before brushing.

Teach to brush more gently, and NOT TO JAM DOWN HIS THROAT! His toothbrush might be the wrong size. Heck, I even had this problem myself in my first pregnancy because almost anything made me gag. Maybe use less toothpaste and have him expectorate more often to reduce the amount of saliva that is in his mouth when brushing. Hope something works. Good luck!
