Braces, spacers, rubber bands,?!?!?!?!? help...plz?!
Question: on a scale from 1-10 how much do braces hurt? like when they put them on and when ur wearing them?
spacers????? ive been told they hurt like ****...is that true? do they eventually take spacers out?? o how much do those hurt (1-10)
what do rubber bands do and do they hurt? like superduper pain or just minor pain??

braces- on scale of 10 i'd say like a 5. they really don't hurt you'll just feel some pressure when u get them on and tightened. ur mouth might be sore for up till a week it all depends on how much ur teeth moved. by sore i mean it only hurts when you try to chew. stick to soups and things when u first get them on.
spacers- i don't remember i had mine when i was really little.
rubber bands-do u mean the color or the rubber bands that attach the bottom and top braces. if you mean the actual bands all it does is bring your bite together more. i've heard they don't hurt at all. I'm prob. gettin these next time i go.
now don't be scared!! the worst part of getting them on is them actually prepping your teeth. they clean them with something that tastes like sand, and put stuff that smells like vinegar on them. Also remember to brush your teeth. if you don't you get nasty food stuck in and your teeth could turn funny colors it happened to my friend they won't go away. as long as u brush at least 2 times a day ur fine!

well braces hurt wen u get them on like 2-5 dayz later and somtimes wen they get tightened! and spacers are just on for a week b4 braces and rubber bands just hurt wen they snap! good luck
It hurts the worst for a short time starting an hour or two after each time that the braces are adjusted, because the wires are pulled tighter. The pain isn't that bad, and you can take acetaminophen or ibuprofen, something over-the-counter. You might want to eat soft foods for about a day, and then it's fine. Don't be scared. Millions of people have gone through this and they are fine. You'll be fine too.
I just got them recently.. when theyre being put on they dont hurt at all, it takes about an hour or so... after that it starts to hurt... you'll try to eat something and your teeth will feel as if theyve all been glued together (haha its hard to explain sorta but thats what it felt like for me) eat soft foods and dont worry cause in 1-2 weeks you'll forget you have them on :)
I dont know about spacers but the elastics dont hurt... at first it feels weird but its fine. You have to wear them 14-16 hours a day... so I wear them at night and take them off at recess at schoool
Brush and floss and do all that stuff the dentist says and you'll be fine!
I'm getting braces and spacers this month. Braces I've heard don't hurt that bad. I can't really give you an exact number cuz I don't have them yet but everyone I've talked to has said they aren't that bad. It's just a bit of pressure when you get them on and your teeth will be a bit sore after getting them on and after tightenings. I'm just going by what I've been told right now because like I said I haven't gotten them yet. Not untill the 25 :)
Spacers do not hurt at all. They just feel like a popcorn kernel stuck in your teeth. They take those off when you get the braces on because they are just there to make space for the wire that goes around your back molars.
I don't know about rubber bands because I don't have them and I'm not getting them anytime soon.
braces for the first 3 months hurt where you wont ANYTHING for three days spacers dont hurt rubber dont hurt

2. You may not need spacers. Yep... after a week they are gone! They just feel like a chunk of meat is stuck in between your teeth and you just can't get it out as much as you keep picking at it with your tongue lol. They hurt like H*LL after like an hour... I would say mine were 8.
3. IDK I don't have any yet but like I have them in the back... around 3 teeth and the 1st day it hurt like 9.
4. Don't be scared at all... it will only hurt for a couple of days and don't be nervous when you are getting them on because all you have to do is open your mouth. I swear, when you get your teeth cleaned at the dentist (hopefully) every 6 months, that hurts even more than when they are putting your braces on, and cleanings don't hurt so that doesn't hurt at all!!!
