What to expect after scaling and root planning?!

Question:

What to expect after scaling and root planning?

First of all, how is it done?
Should I expect bleeding/swelling/pain/what else afterwards?

Answers:

It is done by taking scalers to scale off the calculus from your teeth under the gums. Calculus is the hardened, calcified plaque that can only be removed that way.

Expect some soreness. Just take Advil or Motrin and in a week or so you should be fine!
