I got two teeth pulled (Not wisdom teeth)?!

Question: they are 2 bottom teeth in front of the wisdom teeth, it's already a week after the extraction, but I still cant eat hard stuff, it's pretty hard to chew without these two teeth, my question is that will these two big holes be there from now on?

thanks

Yes, those holes will stay there... if your wisdom teeth come in straight, there's a slim chance that they will shift/drift and reduce the size of the gap.... your only option at this time would be to get implants, which are expensive and not generally covered by insurance, or get what's called a bilateral partial which will fill in the spaces with a 'fake' tooth on either side.........

~Hope this helped.

Normally after a tooth extraction, the hole fills in with tissue. There are some instances in which that fails to happen and that is called a "dry socket". Those are usually painful (though, not to everyone---I had 3 after my wisdom teeth without pain) because the nerves in the socket are exposed to the air when you breathe and anything that you put in your mouth. If you do have dry sockets then, the dentist needs to fill them in with a moistened gauze to encourage tissue granulation so the hole will indeed fill in with tissue.

Hope that this helps. You do not want to have big holes left. You need to see the dentist so they can heal properly.

When I say "holes", I mean the socket...this goes down below your gum line. Don't mistake this for the "gap" that will be there between your two teeth from where your tooth was. That "gap" will not fill in unless you get an implant, bridge, or your other teeth move over some.

It will take time for the healing to complete. Since the front teeth are the teeth that you use to bite into things , you should for the time being cut your food and place in the areas of your molars which are your grinding teeth. Is your dentist planing to make you a bridge to replace ? If so still eat in the same manner so as to protect your temporary bridge. Too bad He didn't make one for you prior to your extractions so that you didn't have to have that space while the area healed.

Initial wound healing takes a minimum of 2 weeks. Complete healing with new bone takes 2-3 months. Meantime, if the holes get food caught in the holes, then ask your dentist or pharmacist for a curved irrigating syringe to wash it out. It doesn't do harm for food to get occasionally stuck in the holes, it's just annoying. Rinsing it out with ordinary tap water is all you need.
If you have unerupted wisdom teeth, then there is a reasonable chance that they will now come thru, and a small chance that they will move forward and take the place of the extracted teeth. Just how well this ends up depends upon your age and the stage of the wisdom teeth development.
As for chewing, there is no need to replace these missing teeth. Studies have shown that as long as people have the first molars (6th from the front), then they can eat and function normally.
I certainly wouldn't make you a denture to replace these teeth - it would be simply too uncomfortable. I also wouldn't be in a rush to have implants here either - you may not need them. Bridges are not possible because you don't have teeth at either end of the gap.
However, I would STRONGLY suggest an assessment of the remaining 1st molars. You need to keep these teeth forever. Quite often 1st molars have been heavily treated, and now would be the time to consider whether they should be crowned so as to prevent fractures and possible extractions.
