Why am i getting ulcers?!

Why am i getting ulcers?
when i go out, which is once maybe twice a week, i have a few beers and a roll up. but, about a month ago, i had a normal cigarette, and next day i had some really bad ulcers. then, friday, i went out and had a normal cigarette again, and i have massive ulcers the next day, in my mouth and throat. i also think i have some in my oesophagus, above where you get heart burn, but below where you get a sore throat.
one thing, i will certainly never smoke anything again, but is this normal? is this a common occurrance, why does it happen, what can i do about it?
