Question:

Hmmmm, about to get a DOUBLE root canal in less than 1.5 hrs.--WILL I ???

be in any pain whatsoever?
Not in any pain now, nor has it ever even bothered me in the slightest
root canals r a 1st 4 me. BUT~was curious ....
after this procedure will I be exhausted later today??
Just looking 4ward to having the root rot FINALLY removed just to get it OVER and DONE WITH ;-D
[should I take a sm. portion of xanax to relax a bit?]
and does the dentist normally inject novacane in the SIDE of the gum??
--or right smack injected in the middle of the tooth right after he removes the temp. crown?

I was irresponsible w/the temp crowns, never went back to complete it
months went by, and then they both decayed very bad (I can see it), so he's being honest
he tried to 'save them'but I waited much to late to have the rest done [won't ever do that again, lol]
anyway, my gums are very unusual because even tho I've had cavities, I've NEVER had real tooth pain at all,
just a couple of minor aches once in a blue moon

Just got back.
I didn't like that too much, all that drilling, yuk.
But it wasn't painful,--he just had to give a little more novacaine once the procedure got deeper into the root.
one more to go,
then finally the posts & crowns :o)
It sure takes a LONG time though!!!--getting quicker apps. I'm looking at 5 more trips to the dentist between both these teeth
man, it's expensive!!
better to spend tho, than run around w/no teeth, lol

Answers:

The freezing is always the worst part pain wise. It feels like its burning. Once that sets in you shouldn't feel pain during the procedure but it is not nice. You still are aware of whats going on and the drills and such are loud. Plus the dentist is rooting around in your mouth...you will feel that.
You will be tired for the rest of the day and your mouth will be frozen for a few hours. Get ready to drool! lol
i don't think you need anything before hand unless you are super nervous..but you don't sound it.
I think they freeze the gum not the tooth..
good luck!
