It sounds like the tooth could be infected. The lump could be either infection or the actual tooth, since it is trying to grow through the side instead of down. This happens all the time with wisdom teeth.

Most dentists recommend to have wisdom teeth pulled because even if they come in straight, they are too far back to keep clean.

For now, you may want to get a baby size toothbrush (get them in the regular toothbrush section of the store) and when you brush in that area, reach the toothbrush back there, then close your mouth most of the way. This allows more room in that area so you can get it cleaner.

For the pain, you can use warm saltwater rinses and also (this sounds gross) try mixing 1/2 Hydrogen Peroxide and 1/2 water...then rinse with that. It will help if you do have infection. Just don't swallow it!!

The way the nerves run in the jaw, you can feel pain in your ears and in your jaw, not just in the tooth. If I were you, I would try to get in for a quick visit to your dentist before the end of January. They may want you to be on antibiotics ....esp.. if you are having any fever.

Good luck...I hope you feel better soon!

It's possible that you have got an infection that area of the gum. Wisdom teeth are horrible things, i had to have all mine removed in the hospital because they were so impacted.
I would contact your dentist and see if they can see you sooner than your appointment because if it is infected then you need to get it cleared up as soon as possible to stop it spreading.

Good luck.

THAT SUCKS but i was born without wisdom teeth woooohooooo

the lump might be an abcess and if it pops in ur mouth its gonna be gross

i really feel for you. i had the worst time with all my wisdom teeth which like yours grew into my gums..i had them all taken out once they had fully grown. also i had a lump near one of mine to but the dentist wasnt bothered bout it and after my tooth was taken out it went away. ur dentist will prob take it out now if its fully grown (cos if it aint grown then have to cut the gum to get the rest out which u dont want) or else file it down til it finishes growing. try get an emergency appointment with ur dentist cos tooth pain really is the worst and can make u miserabel!

yea ask your dentist and see what you can do. I'm pretty sure you need to remove your wisdom teeth and they seem to be impacted.

Hi there Lisa, omg im getting one of my wisdom teeth coming through aswell its at the top but its not painfull or anything, its been coming through 4 a couple of months now,but it sounds like you have an infection in that tooth and the lump is because of that aswell, just keep doing what you are thats good or mabye gurgle salt water that mite help, and try to brush the tooth thats coming through thourouly,2 ease the pain i dont know what you can do if your pregnant, you should go to the chemist or drug store, you guys have different names for things there, lol so i never know if you will understand what im saying lol,so yeah sweetie go 2 the drug store/chemist im sure they can help you with what to take, anyway sweetie hope you feel better soon and get some relief aswell good luck with everything and happy new year :0) :0)

Wisdom teeth are horrible and as part of the tooth is still under your gum it's almost impossible to get it totally clean which leads to pain infection etc etc. I had this for a few years on and off and I can sypmathise fully as it made me totally miserable! I ended up having all 4 taken out at once in hospital, which wasn't the best feeling but it beats having toothache every couple of weeks. If I were you I'd try to get an emergency appointment as soon as you can as the more you complain about it the more chance you have for them to remove them which, believe me, is the best option.
Feel better soon x

I have had the exactly same problem as you so many times. Your wisdom tooth is infected and the lump you can feel or see is a flap of skin and underneath that skin is trapped food. That food cant get out unless your dentist cleans it out, this will keep getting infected unless you have them taken out, i have had 2 of mine taken out. I had trouble with them all the time. Its so painfull when its at its worse.
I would book a dentist appointment asap and get it cleaned out they will give you some antibiotics and it will clear it up, but it will ALWAYS return, its best if you suggest to the dentist you want it out so it doesnt cause you any bother again.
