What is the tool that dentists use to shave /file down your teeth made out of?!
Question: Odd question I know but today I had a tooth shaved down and the whole time I was wondering. My dentisit is not the niceset preson so I didn't ask.

if it was making that high-pitched, stereotypical dental sound, it was probably a diamond bur or a finishing carbide bur. If it was a quieter sound, it was probably some type of sandpaper disk. There are other things too such as "stones". I prefer finishing diamonds, but they all pretty much do the same thing. Take care.
If he used the handpiece (drill), there may have been a 'fine diamond bur' on it or a 'white stone bur' on it.. those are commonly used to 'smooth' teeth down... but all dentists have their preferences as to which bur is used........
