Tooth problem?!

Question: My mothers tooth got broken few hours ago ( ceramic tooth - broken on half ). She is going to the dentist tomorrow. Does the remain part of tooth has to be pulled out, or there is simply a pasta that can be put instead of the broken part?

The dentist will have to take an x-ray to see if there is any damage to the root and supporting structures of the tooth and dependent on how much natural tooth is remaining the fixes will be a filling (using white filling material), a veneer (lab fabricated font for the tooth) or a crown (lab fabricated full coverage [front and back and all around] for the tooth). Only your dentist can determine the best fix for this situation. The tooth will only need extraction if the root is factured or there in insufficient bony support left, in which case an implant or bridge may be recommended.

Yes, the dentist will usually put ziti or spagetti noodles on it.

Depends on the dentist, there is a paste, but doesn't work well, probably have to be totally redone.

She will have to have the remaining part of the tooth removed and a whole new tooth put in.

no. they're gonna pull it out.

I once broke a tooth on a prune i thought was pitted but was not. They pulled out the other half. That was when I was real small though so it was my baby tooth. It grew back
