I have a question about braces/expanders?

I am a college student seeking orthodontic treatment soon. I was wondering about the average cost of braces and if an expander would increase the cost.
I also would like to ask about the effectiveness of the braces/expander combination in treating an underbite/crossbite. I have been referred to an oral surgeon, but seeing as my finances are little, the surgery procedure seems a little out of reach, at least at this time. So, I'm hoping to still get good results with just the braces.

hey dude im 12 and im getting braces for the 2nd time now i my bff had an expander and braces. 1st of all you need to know that when i have to get them again i snuck a peek at the papers and it totaled for all my teeth to have brackets (no expander) it cost $2,800 i think i might have been wrong im just guessing. for the expander my friend said it was like 2,000. hey hope this helps?! ~~~~~~~~~~ SQUIGGLY~
