Why doesn't dental insurance cover cerec crowns? and how much do you pay for a !

Question:

Why doesn't dental insurance cover cerec crowns? and how much do you pay for a root canal w/ insurance?

I have Smilesaver insurance and talked to my dentist about insurances, and it sounded to me like none fully cover cerec crowns. I'm just wondering why, and how much do you pay for one with insurance? I pay $850 with mine. Also, I had to pay $850 for a root canal with a specialist. How much is normal to pay for a root canal with insurance? Are these expenses very high or typical?

Answers:

typical specialists cost more and it depends on the number of canals in the tooth.....as far as the cerec crown goes.....i personally would NEVER get one.....they're crap...how can a machine replace a human, lab techs are amazing..a lady in our office just got one and its been nothing but trouble for her....she said it feels like a big chunk of ...crap in her mouth, no anatomy, just my opinion of course
