Should there be an odor, pain and bleeding when i floss around my less than 1 mo!

Question: i am flossing all around the base of crown and there is horrible odor all around. i am bleeding a lot which I did not have before. the pain is sharp and throbbing. is this normal? when he put in one of the crowns he shoved it down into the gum tissue and it really hurt and this is the same pain i'm feeling when i floss. am i more suseptible to decay with this issue since there is a bad odor?

Bad odor is the main sign of infection. Other signs are redness, pain, swelling and heat. These four are also signs of inflammation, which is the body's natural response to trauma. But the bad odor is definately a sign of infection. I suggest calling your dentist in the morning and letting him or her know what's going on. I would almost bet the they'll will see you immediately.

No that is infection. If the tooth has not had a root canal it probably needs one. If it has had a root canal then it is re infected. Go back to the dentist so they can take care of it, before it gets worse.

THIS IS NEVER NORMAL AND MUST BE FIXED BEFORE THE TOOTH NEEDS TO BE EXTRACTED. YOU MAY HAVE A FRACTURED TOOTH, PLEASE SEE A DENTIST.

You could actually have some cement stuck in there where they cemented the crown. Go back to your dentist for an x-ray.
