Why are Braces so Expensive?!
Question: My family is not made of money! and i need to get braces but i have to have teeth pulled first....my dentist wont pull my Eye teeth because they said they could get a lawsuit by another dentist...they told me Braces would probably run my aunt about $8,000 with the teeth pulling i believe. Why are they so expensive?

Yeah i know what you mean!! we cant afford them either but luckly our dental insurance is paying for it. do you have it? maybe you can use that.

be forewarned they hurt like hell the first few days
they are not supposed to be that expensive!! i mean i have had braces (i still do they are almost comming off!!) twice once only like 1500 and the second time 4500 and i had my two bottom wisdom teeth out last monday and a molar extracted which came out to 1550 and i dont have insurance! the most i have ever heard of braces being was like 5600!!
They shouldn't be that much, maybe half that. They are very expensive because the equipment and the treatment lasts a while. They have great payment plans that have a little to no interest rate. Good luck!
You are being charged WAY TOO MUCH.
Orthodontics is expensive due to the number of years the orthodontist spends in university. Dentists who do ortho in their offices and do not have an ortho degree and STILL charge as though they do are CROOKS.
Ortho is expensive because the materials are expensive.
Still, orthodontists are among the top income earners and one could say that they do charge more than is necessary. I guess that is part of life. That said, nothing is stopping any of us from becoming orthodontists. It is a level playing field! Equal opportunity for all with hard work and perseverance.
