Help! I had 2 teeth pulled, I'm wondering if I got food in the wounds?

I had 2 bicuspids pulled, one on each side. They were pulled about 4 days ago...last couple days I noticed a skin-colored substance....I'm not sure if it's food or skin. It could be newly forming skin or cheese and crackers (gross I know). I don't want to scrape it off if its skin, but yet I don't want to leave it if it's food...What should I do?

gently, rinse your mouth out with warm salt water.

Also, do not suck through a straw as this may loosen blood clot.
