Cleaning retainers that have been in the trash?!

Question:

Cleaning retainers that have been in the trash?

My retainers were accidentally thrown in the trash, having been wrapped in a napkin. I'll never do that again.

I had to go digging in the trash and when they were found, they smelled like beer and I can't imagine what other types of germs and bacteria and nasty stuff is on them.

You can imagine how I'd want to get them EXTREMELY clean before even attempting to put them back in my mouth. I wanted to run them through the dishwasher but I did research and it said they wouldn't survive.

What can I use to kill ALL the germs that is safe for my retainers and for my mouth?

Answers:

My dentist specifically advised me against using denture tablets. So I found this product called RetainerFresh. I picked up a sample at a health fair at my mall! It is crystals, not a tablet. It will do the job cleaning your retainer. I tried it on my TOTALLY SMELLY and gross retainer and it was like new!

Go to retainerfresh.com

Good luck and put that thing in a ziploc until you get it clean! Gross! :-)
