Is there a cure to heal a burned mouth pallet?!

Question: my husband ate hot pizza 3 days ago and burned the roof of his mouth. it's still hurting him like crazy. Does anyone have a cure a remedy?

Warm salty water - teaspoon of salt in a mug of warm water. Great healing solution. Also chlorhexidine mouthwash half an hour after brushing morning and night. He can use a gel containing lidocaine aswell (such as a teething gel) , it's a topical anaesthetic so use it 10 minutes before eating to ease discomfort!
