Extraction?!
Question: I had a wisdom tooth pulled out in Nov (I think). Since then I have noticed a consistent pain. Not as severe as it was before and with my busy, crazy life I didn't notice the pain. The last couple of day my mouth has been hurting. So I finally investigated my gum, where the tooth was. On the inside of my gum (next to my tongue) there is a sharp edge as if a tooth or bone maybe sticking out, but still covered by my gums.
My question is....Do dentist sometimes miss or leave a piece of a tooth behind. Will it come out or should I go back to the dentist?

yes, they do miss small pieces and if you can see it - you need to go have it checked out by the dentist.......it could cause problems and get infected - the only time they leave a small piece in is when they believe it is small enough to dissolve on it's own and that doesn't sound like the case with you..........
YOU HAVE BONE WORKING OUT OF THE GUMS AND SOMETIMES THIS TAKES AWHILE KEEP YOUR MOUTH CLEAN AND USE MOUTHWASH. THESE ARE BONE FRAGMENTS WHICH IS COMMON WHEN GETTING TEETH PULLED. IF YOU ARE UNEASY ABOUT THIS ONE QUESTION TO THE DENTIST IS NOT GOING TO COST YOU MONEY AND WILL EASE YOUR MIND
you could go back to the dentist ,or just let it slowly work it way out,sometimes teeth crack inside the gums when the dentist remove them and leave shards
