What's a clear retainer?!

Question: I just got my braces off about 4 days ago and I'm going to get my retainer tommorow. and I'm getting a clear retainer but I have no idea what it is.

Also, is the clear retainer easier to put on than the normal one? and is it more comfortable?

i had braces when i was like 14. now i have a clear retainer. its basically 2 separate plastice "molds" that fit on you upper teeth and you bottom teeth. it doesnt hurt at all. they are much easier then regular. make sure u clean them with cold water. and some people only have to waer them at night (like me) when you are sleeping. but i know other kids that have to wear it all day. i dont get why. but yea its like a retainer only clear so you still see your teeth and no one can really tell that u have it on.

hope i helped.

peace.

the wire that is across your teeth is clear and not a sliver wire every thing else is the same congrats of getting your braces off

A clear retainer is called essex ( i used to make them for the orthodontist). They are made of the exact same thing as Invisalign.

It is very easy and comfortable to wear. It looks exactly like this http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:mbAE...

clean it using either denture tablets or vinegar in warm water

They are exact molds of your teeth. They are just clear and slip right on. They are kind of fun. And here's a tip, please wear yours every night forever, it's really not that big of a deal and your smile will remain pretty. I did not wear mine ever, lost them, didn't care, and all those braces I had went to ****. It's not worth it. Wear them!

A clear retainer is eather clear craces or its a retainer that goes on the roof of your mouth and you have to take it off when you eat and it is clear...hope i helped

its just a little plastic thing until they make your real one/
