Wisdom tooth?!

Question: does the doctor remove the stitches that they put you from a wisdom tooth removal or do they just fall on there own. And if he does is it painful.

If you require stitches, then they won't take them out, it will dissolve by itself, no need to worry about it.

depends on the materials used -ask the doctor BEFORE the procedure.

If the sutures were done with catgut material it will be absorbed. Usually dentists always use silk for wisdom tooth extraction wound closure. Some times even the silk falls off (not absorbed) If not it should be removed. It is not a painful proceedure.
