What should I do about my painful teeth until my appt. next week?!

Question: It feels like someone is drilling a hole through them, only front teeth.

Answers: It feels like someone is drilling a hole through them, only front teeth.

It really depends on what the problem is. Ibuprofen is usually the best choice as a pain reliever (over Tylenol) because it has anti-inflammatory properties.

1. You can try orajel or anbesol as a topical anesthetic (don't use massive amounts or for long term).
2. Eat only soft foods and at room temperature. Teeth can't feel "pain"--I know that sounds stupid, but they can't. They react to outside factors....stress, temperature, decay.
You will definitely feel "pain" if you have extreme hot or cold, so that's why you should stick with room temperature food & drinks.
3. Get to the store and get some de-sensitizing toothpaste. When brushing, go gently and with warm water---not hot and not cold!!

If you've used whitening strips or jel, your teeth may just be reacting to that by being sensitive, which will eventually go away.

I hope you feel better soon. Tooth pain can be awful!

****PLEASE DON'T USE ASPIRIN ON YOUR TOOTH!!! IT EATS THE ENAMEL AND YOU WILL END UP IN WORSE PAIN THAN YOU STARTED WITH!!!

Get some Orasol (I think that's what it's called) gel. You rub it on your teeth. It's for toothaches and you can get it at Wal-Mart. In the meantime, don't drink or eat anything too cold! Feel better!

Tylenol or Ibuprofen possibly could help. Avoid extreme hot or cold foods and sugary foods. You have my sympathy. I have had bad toothache pain before and it's not cool.

I have put an asprin right on the gum under my tooth to take the toothache away. (you can't use the coated ones though)

you can try some anbesol or orajel. though i think if u take some advil or tynenol and apply either some anbesol or orajel it will feel better.
