I got my wisdom teeth out last week and i still have open cuts. why do i have re!

Question: about a week and a half ago i got my wisdom teeth out. when they took the stitches out one didnt heal that well and it is still open. it is actually pretty deep and long because i can open it up and see my jaw bone. i just dont understand why i have such bad breath and a gross taste in my mouth all the time. is it because there is food that gets stuck in the hole? i have been brushing my teeth like 4 times a day and using listerine and stuff.

Yes, it is because of the food/debris that gets stuck in the extraction site. It could also be infection. If your oral surgeon gave you and irrigation syringe, use it. Fill it with warm salt water and flush the debris out of the extraction site. If the smell goes away soon after irrigating, then it was the debris that was causing the odor. If they didn't give you and irrigation syringe, make an appointment (it should be free of charge as a follow up) and have them check for infection and request an irrigation syringe to clean out your extraction sites. Good Luck.

think about this all the food drinks etc that have been in your gums and teeth area are now free so that is why you have a bad taste from all the plaque build up and some blood as well

If you can see your jawbone, you may have a dry socket. I would call the dentist and let them know what you said here. The bad breath could also be sign of infection.

Yes part of the reason is b/c food gets stuck in the hole also mabey theyrs still some stiches that didnt come out.

I know that when I got my wisdom teeth removed I also had that really bad taste in my mouth, so I got some twezzers, found a stich and pulled it out.

DONT try it by your self when I pulled out the stitches it started bleeding really bad and didnt top for untill the next day.

Do they hurt you might have dry socket.

it sounds like you have an infection. you NEED to go to your dentist and have it checked out. if you can't get to your dentist right away in the meantime you should try gargles by getting some tea tree oil and putting a few drops into about half a glass of water, and gargle with that. that will get rid of the bacteria that's causing the bad breath

Rinse often with salt water. It will promote healing and diminish bad breath, Mints will help.
Mouthwash has alcohol, you may not want that.
