How long does it take wisdom teeth removal to heal?!

Question: I'm asking because I had all 4 removed on December 21st. The top are healed, but the bottom still are big holes. I know that there are more often complications (like dry socket) with the bottoms, do they also take longer to heal?

No significant pain, they just don't seem to be closing up.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed in October, and I still have small holes on the bottom. Give it some time.

I had dry sockets when mine were removed and I was allergic to the pain medication. If you rinse your mouth with warm salt water it should help. Ask your dentist because this is a long time not to be healed. It might be normal, but, the dentist might be able to do something with it.

Oh yes. My bottom holes took awhile. A long while. I cleaned them out w/ the syringe thing as instructed, and had no problems.

It has been a year since I had mine removed, and I can still feel the holes. They're not huge and gaping, but they're still there. They'll heal quickly over the next two or three months, and then the healing will get a bit slower. At least, that is how it worked for me.

If you have any concerns, it is important to contact your dentist.

Yours sound pretty normal. The top ones heal faster, I think, because they can naturally drain thanks to gravity. I think dry socket is when a clot has not formed to allow natural healing, so if you didn't get dry socket by now, I don't think you will get it. Just clean those sockets after meals with your syringe and you should be just fine.

i had a lot of trouble with mine. but i had 4 cut out at the same time and had a lot of stitches. i also had dry sockets, it hurt really bad but after i went back to the doctor for it i felt a lot better. he cleaned the dry sockets and gave me some numbing medacine. also i had 2 infections with mine. if your worried you should call the doctors office and talk to the nurse about it. also make sure you clean the holes really good because food can get stuck in there and it can cause and infection. i'm not trying to scare you but i was in so much pain i wouldn't want anyone to go through it. i remember saying that i would rather go through 3 child births than deal with the pain bacause my pain meds didn't work that good.
