I am horrified...Can u plz help...wont take long?!
Question: Ok well I am getting braces in a week and I am just so horrified.Not exactly of the braces but of the headgear.I dont know if I have to get it or not but...ok so...
My upper jaw is smaller than normal(?)
My teeth are spaced(braces)
So I don't know if I need a hedgear or not
If I do,how does it feel and how would it be in school?I don't and wont get it...I refuse...plz help me.Any advise is gud but plz positive.If u have/had them whats it like?How much do braces hurt etc? Headgear?!

lol DONT BE SCARED!!! head gear is OUT, to the best of my knowlege. if your upper jaw is small, they typical give you something called an expander, which literally expands your "top mouth" slowly. It's not very noticable unless someone is a lot shorter than you and looking for it. braces will fix everything else. you will be pretty sore for a couple weeks, but nothing jello and pudding cant fix :]
most orthodontists won't make you wear headgear during the day. they have nighttime things.
dont sweat it. mostly nobody wears head gear during the day. only at night. It's a little bit uncomfortable at first but you get used to it.
Get ready to sleep on your bach for two years in a row. Thats what happened to me. (no other way to sleep in headgear. I amso go a permanent kink in my hair. Ahaha. Just the cons. Pros: Strait teeth for life.
Both of my children had braces and neither had head gear. I think it depends on the orthodontist and your teeth.
MY DAUGHTER HAD THEM AND NEVER HAD TO WEAR HEAD GEAR, BUT JUST THINK OF THE END RESULTS, YOUR GOING TO LOOK BEAUTIFUL....
