How long it takes for numbness to wear off after having your wisdom teeth taken !

Question: I had my wisdom teeth pulled yesterday (4 of them) and the majority of the numbness in my face has worn off, except for one side of my bottom lip. Now the numbness has worked its was down to 1/2 my chin, and it wasn't numb yesterday. Should I be worried?

Firstly, did you get completely put to sleep or just have it done in your dentist's clinic? If you are still numb, I would definately call the dentist/surgeon that did the operation. You shouldn't really be numb still, but often these things can happen and will go away. However, I would still call someone and get them to take a look at it. Good luck, let me know how you go!

No. Just keep taking your meds because you REALLY don't want to feel it.

two hours maybe
i think they may have damaged a nerve.
did they warn you about this before you
agreed to the treatment?
eek they shouldn't take all four at once.

That would be concerning to me. The numbness should have worn off by now. Sometimes, though, the nerves can become damaged resulting in prolonged numbness that sometimes (very very very rarely) never wears off. Usually it will return, but could take some time. I would contact the doctor and alert him of the situation.

Depends on the type of anesthetic used. There are long acting local anesthetics available and they can last up to 24 hrs. Trauma to the adjacent nerves can cause 'parasthesia' which is temporary numbing and that should dissipate with time. Good Luck
