they will numb your mouth, so you wont feel any pain. if your that scared, just close your eyes and daydream. it doesnt hurt at all.

what the hell? why aren't you going under? you know you can ask him/her to put you under. that would be the smart thing to do. i can't really tell ou because i will never have to pull mine out.

I had mine pulled, I was not put under just numbed. It was fine, no big deal just like any other dental work. Don't worry and make sure to let your dentist know you are worried. They should be able to help you relax either by drugs or by talking you through the procedure. Good Luck.

well my sister they just took them out and put numming stuff in.... but they might give you laughing gas or sleeping gas? i think its called sleeping gas... idk... good luck.. it wont hurt.. my sister is usually in alot of pain for those things but she wasnt for that....

If you are going to be awake, you will not feel any pain but you will hear everything. You will hear your teeth being pulled and cracked by the dentist. Its kinda a weird sensation. The dentist had to stand and use both hands to get one of mine out. Just close your eyes and think of a happy place.

Hello!
Hmm, You should go to a dentist to have some x-rays done to see if they are well placed and if they have the natural space to go out. Be sure of having this done, bc if they're not ok, and they go down, it could make a big deal in your mouth by pushing the other teeth.
Kiss!

i had my wisdom teeth out and i didn't go under and i'm going to be completely honest with you it really sucks. the worst part though is the novocaine. after you get the novocaine shot its all down hill. just make sure the speak up if the novocaine isn't working when he starts drilling your teeth. (this happend to me)

I went threw this twice and was never put under.Just relax and breath smoothly.I was eating Rally's by the end of the night.

DUDE, YOU HAVE TO GO UNDER
.....thats just insaneeeeeee :|

I just had mine pulled, and I was put under. But really if they put tons of the numbing stuff in your mouth you wont be feeling a thing for hours. The hard part though is the recovery. I was bleeding in my mouth for about a day and a half. Don't be surprised if you throw up the first night because you have probably swallowed some blood. But the hard throbing will only last about 5 days, then the pain signifigantly goes down.
If you have lots of pain though in my experience drink lots of tea (or any other hot drink). It somehow immidiatly gets rid of the pain for a short while, it is better than Vicaden.

I wish you luck though. Good news is that you can put them under your pillow and the tooth fairy will come!

Don't worry. Since you'll be awake it sounds like you don't have impacted wisdom teeth.

I was awake when mine were removed.

The dentist numbs you up reeeaaallly good and in a matter of seconds he has removed your teeth.

If the teeth are slightly impacted they will have to drill some but it isn't worse than getting a cavity filled.

LOL...the funny thing was, I have a small jaw, and the dentist kept cussing me for not opening my mouth enough! I kept trying to open it wider and my jaw got tired, and started to ache. That was the worst part, and it only happened because I was too "tough" to ask for a rest.

mine are just coming in now so i don't know how they are going to be taken out. but my dentist always asks me if i want to listen to my ipod so that i don't hear what he is doing. so maybe that will comfort you. GOOD LUCK!

I had two taken out awake and two taken out under anesthesia. I woke up from anesthesia crying. Being awake at least you know what they're doing to you. It's going to hurt a bit either way so just be brave, it won't take long and then you'll be over. Ask the Dentist if you can take an Advil or something before you go.

I went through that. It sucked. But what can you do?

It took only a couple mins. to remove one of mine that was already out and had been for years. I was not under and it was so painless. I am deathly terrified to get any dental work done (majorly traumatized as a child).
My dentist is very aware that I am the biggest chicken in the chair.
When my second one was removed it was only partially out and it took about 30 mins. to remove. The Dr. had to remove it in sections cause it was so stubborn. Still I didn't feel any pain but I had to take several breaks (due to my anxiety) that my anesthesia actually wore off. My Dr. had to give me another shot.

In hindsight I wish I had been under. I know it was more expensive but I think it would have been worth it.
Not because of the pain, because of the anxiety I went through. Its really really exhausting sitting in the chair worrying and tensing up!

dont be scared.
i had one removed a couple months ago. i was wide awake. (i was to scared to go under). i got numbed. the dentist even numbed each and every little nerve. i could still feel most of it but the pain wasnt to unbearable. i advise u to take something to listen. u will be able to hear what ur dentist is doing. dont stress it. dont think about it only makes it worse.
i hope ur wisdom teeth arent impacted.
