What could have happened?!

Question:

What could have happened?

In January I got a large cavity filled in the side of one of my front teeth. The doctor said it was strange how it got so big and that I was too young for having cavities that big. I brushed my teeth two times a day at the time, although when I was younger I took bad care of my teeth. The filled up cavity is still sensetive to really cold things. Is there a reason for this? I am now I VERY careful brusher, I brush two times a day, and I floss at night. Did the dentitst not fill it up all the way? What could have happened?

And if it makes a difference, my mouth was numb for another 7 hours maybe afterwards and my top lip was sore for a few days after.

But wouldn't it have the pain gone away since January?

Answers:

Speaking from personal experience...I had my teeth fixed with fillings when i was in my teens and now I'm 35...I have sensitivity to this day. I have to use Sensodine toothpaste and take very care of drinking anything cold. It's not that the dentist mucked it up, just alters ur tooth. Good idea to go back and let your dentist know whats up and how it's feeling.
