and...as horrible as it sounds, chew gum....
hey, it hurts no matter what, so why not get it over with sooner. my orthodontist used to "give" me packs of gum when i left the office....sugar free of course...and he said it would help to move the teeth into place faster....

get back to that quack and complain!....This is not a new diet program you asked for....I would also doc him some money..as he is not doing his job

anytime you go and get your braces tightened they will hurt and your mouth will be tender until you have them for awhile you will get use to it, try a rinse of warm salt water, a soft diet, and what ever you would take for a headache for pain might help. If after a couple of days and you are still having problems follow up with your dentist as he may have to adjust them again, remember they are just trying to give you a great smile.
