I just had my wisdom teeth out on friday and went to the orthodontist (I still wear a retainer) on wednesday. He said, "well its been over a year" and said just to call if I needed him. I asked when I could stop wearing my retainer and he said,
"Forever, otherwise your teeth will go crooked again." I tried asking again and he wouldn't answer me. I put my retainer in (after almost a week because of wisdom teeth and it still fit). How long should you where a retainer?

It is true...your teeth may go back to being crooked if you don't keep wearing a retainer.
OR you can go have a dentist or orthodontist give you lingual bars.
Lingual bars are a thin metal line that goes across the back of your front teeth.
The bars are held in place by cement.
That way, you don't have to mess with a retainer, and the bars are not removable.
