Wisdom teeth question...?!

Question: How do you know if your wisdom teeth have come in or not? Is it normal to be in your late 20's and have never even felt them?

They come in like other teeth, little at a time. Yes it is normal to have never even felt them. However, your dentist should be able to give you more info when you go in for your regular cleanings...

Many people have a painful experience or an uncomfortable one due to the size of the jaw. If it is smaller then the wisdom teeth are jammed in there with the rest, which is why so many are removed. Then there are those who only get them on the top or bottom, and some not at all.

But be sure to check with your dentist to be sure nothing is in an 'impacted' state.

Let a smile be your umbrella on a rainy day :)

Thanks for the Q :)

You have to open your mouth and see if you see them. Nothing unusual if you have never felt them.

some people dont ever get them at all
im 16 and my wisdom teeth are all in and pulled out alreadytrust me its wicked painful

I just had my wisdom teeth out at 17, I could feel them poking through and i just toyed around with them with my tongue for a couple of months. It is common though that that don't grow straight but side ways so you can't feel them. I would suggest you go to your dentist/orthodontist to get them x-rayed.

Yes it's very normal. My neighbor is elderly and she tells me that the only teeth she has left are her wisdom teeth because they came out so late. And when they so start coming out the dentists will try to take them out to make money. Don't, you need them. I remember they showed me an xray of my teeth showing me how my wisdom teeth were going to mess up all my teeth because they were growing directly below my other molars. I was about 18 at the time and could feel nothing just like you and thank God I ignored him cause today they have grown just fine. It does hurt a little but no big deal, not the end of the world. good luck

i would get random earaches everyonce in a while. and then my dentist told me they needed to be removed. i was 16

X-ray vision, or go to your dentist.

That would be wise.

There's no such thing as "normal"...everyone is different.

At age 23, the roots have fully developed. You don't want to wait until they fully develope. Go to the dentist and they usually refer you to an oral surgeon if you need to extract them...I would go to the dentist now. The sooner the better. Good luck!

Yes its perfectly normal not to fell them, I'm 26 and will be 27 in July

I had only my bottom Wisdom teeth that i could fell, I went in and had it checked out and they were extracted about 3yrs ago, Was the best thing I've done since the bottom two were bugging me
