How bad does it hurt to get a wisdom tooth pulled?!
Question: I was awake when mine were pulled.
It did not hurt at all.
I dont know what kind of drugs they gave me,but what ever it was worked wonders!
I had a root canal that same month.I would rather have my teeth pulled than a root canal.

I don't know because I had 4 pulled at 2 different times......had no choice. I was chicken and paid the extra to go to a dental surgeon and be put to sleep for th 10 minutes it took there in his office. WONDERFUL!!! No pain. Even after....just soreness.
Good luck. I wouldn't want to have it pulled with Novacaine. Just seems to me it would be too difficult. But, maybe somebody else has better opinions. I'm just a dental "chicken"

I had the same experience as Bonnie, but had all 4 pulled at the same time. It probably depends on the tilt of your wisdom teeth and by age 24 the roots are fully developed, which can make it more difficult.

It really depends on how good your dentist is. Personally I would recommend having the dentist put you completely under so you don't know what's happening at the time -- it's how I got my 4 out....
sleep 4 me, 4 half of time but woke up because i didnt have enough medicine. i had my teeth cut in half so it hurt kinda bad
I had all four of my wisdom teeth pulled in about 30 minutes...they put me asleep of course so I didn't feel the horrible horrible horrible pain until afterwards when they were non-stop bleeding for days and days and days on end. It was an interesting experience...glad it's over. Good luck!
