Food stuck in wisdom teeth scars... How to get it out?!
Question:
Food stuck in wisdom teeth scars... How to get it out?
I had my wisdom teeth removed about two weeks ago. The operation went well, and I recovered with seemingly no ill effects - I had dry sockets for the bottom two, but the dentist fixed that.
Now I'm back to eating normal food - hooray, no more soup! - but I have a problem. The holes where the teeth were haven't completely closed up yet - there's still little pockets of scar tissue that haven't filled out. Apparently this is normal. Anyway, when I eat, sometimes little bits of food get stuck there. I can't reach with a toothbrush, that just pushes the food further in, but I can generally either suck it out or it'll come out with vigorous rinsing.
Today though, I ate strawberries. You know those little seeds? I have about five of those stuck in there. They're really annoying. Is there any more effective method of getting them out? Will they naturally come out after a while, or should I actively work at getting them? Is it dangerous if they stay there too long?
Answers:
A small syringe (without the needle). You can buy them in the first aid isle. Or, get a water pick in with the tooth brushes
