I like to chew things...?!

Question: ..... I was thinking of getting a baby teether (one of the gel ones) to chew on, because currently I like to chew on juice pouches, and ketchup packets and I figure it would be more handy and practical to chew on a teether.

But, what I really want to know is whether or not this will be bad for my teeth. I know sucking is bad but what about chewing? Thanks!

Yes, "overchewing" is not good for your teeth. It can actually can cause mobility and you can see what teeth you chew most often with on x-rays. It causes the periodontal ligament to become increased. You should try to break this habit.

Why not grab a pack of gum??

Like to chew on popsicle sticks...wonder why? I would think it is not good.

gum doesnt work?

how about toothpicks? i have a kind of habbit like that, except i usually twist my hair or something. but if i find something else, like chewing on toothpicks, it keeps me preoccupied from twisting hair. they are cheap, and can keep a box of em in a pocket.

i dont really care for chewing gum either. =]

same here, but I tend to go for toothpicks, or sucker sticks and manipulate in in my mouth. I bet a teether would be better than the sharp edges of ketchup and juice packets. I also love it when wax lips come available during Halloween, I chew that wax around for hours.
