How long is a tube of toothpaste supposed to last?!

Question: There are soooo many kinds of toothpastes out there, I have a bad habit of buying one and then buying another one to try it before the other one is out. HELP, please tell me which toothpaste to use so I will stop buying so many and wasting my money! I am 29 and have healthy teeth...no cavities, no gum disease, ete. Also, am I supposed to use mouth wash or not? Listerine good or not?

It's supposed to last until it is gone...and if you're like me, you squeeze it from the bottom so you get every last bit.

I only have multiple tubes because I've left it behind when traveling before. I leave one by the sink and one in the shower now because I like to brush in there.
I like Aquafresh Extreme Clean and Crest Total because it really foams alot and leaves my mouth feeling really fresh afterwards.

Mouthwash kills germs, but it can also dry out your mouth because of the alcohol in it.
What's more important to you?
Most people pick germ-fighting, because of all the scary commercials, but remember people and their teeth lived just fine before all these modern day inventions.

I'm your same age with healthy teeth, never a cavity. I don't find that using mouthwash regularly (vs not) changes much.
And it's not as important as good brushing and flossing (I hate flossing), and drinking lots of water to keep the body hydrated.

Stop wasting your money. Just PICK ONE type, use it multiple times daily, and quit obsessing!
Oh, and floss too. (Still hate that)

the toothpaste depends on how many times u use to brush ur teeth....
i use listerine, its really good,i recommend the orange one since its less extreme

I am like you. I have tons!! I get samples or buy something that looks interesting. I still use it. I suppose there might be some less effectiveness from the flouride after several years, but who cares. It's unlikely that you will develop cavities in the areas protected by flouride, since you don't have them now. You can use what ever toothpaste you like. I've had patients with healthy teeth and gums that brushed with soap (yea, soap) or salt. The paste isn't as important as the brushing in low cavity risk people.
Most mouthwashes are cosmetics. Listerine does help to kill a few exta bugs, but is really not necessary
