What are the dangers of floride my friend said its bad for you??!

Question: Fluoride, like anything, is poisonous in large doses. If you ingest too much could become ill.

In everyday life, however, it poses little threat. The water is fluoridated in the USA because it makes the enamel of your teeth more resistant to decay but some people are concerned that this will damage their health. There are all kinds of theories ranging from "it causes cancer" to "it's bad: now buy our defluoridator" to even "the government wants to use it to control our minds." Obviously there is not a shred of evidence in either suggestion.

There is however a condition called fluorosis caused by high consumption of fluoride while the teeth are still growing. This can cause damage to the teeth which ranges from white discolorations to brown and pitted teeth. However at the levels in US water you would have to drink obscene amounts to induce this although occasionally this happens to children who consistently swallow (not spit out) fluoridated toothpastes.

So to conclude: Too much fluoride is bad for you but getting to that level is difficult unless you go around drinking fluoride solutions or swallowing toothpastes and its use in strong concentrations by a qualified dentist is perfectly safe and proven in efficacy.

Read this for more info: http://www.doctorspiller.com/fluoride.ht... and beware because there's a lot of hysteria about fluoride and a lot of people take sides on the issue without understanding it fully.

I hope that helps =)

Fluoide is good for you, no dangers.
It helps strengthen teeth, it's found in i think nearly all tooth pastes, and tap water.
If there was any danger my dentist would definitely not be giving, my teeth a fluoride bath.
